Frankby Rangers Go Batty For Your Wirral

The Your Wirral fund can be used to help your group meet a wide variety of needs or ideas, depending upon what you identify.  One of these projects was from 1st / 3rd Frankby Guides and 1st Frankby Rangers.  Their project was for a variety of activities including new resuscitation training equipment for the Rangers and climbing and archery activities for the Guides in addition to the purchase of bat detectors.

The Group Leader, Chris Ring, said “The bat detectors were great fun and will be used on many occasions.  Imagine a walk in the woods as it is getting dusk.  What can you see?  Nothing, its getting dark, we can’t see.  Turn on the bat detector and wow the excitement as it started bleeping and then they could see bats.  Well it was ages before they went for supper and the kids were really buzzing and each night after that we were all bat watching and even identified some!”
