Your Wirral are pleased to have supported 1st Bromborough Boys Brigade to transform a corner of their grounds into a garden.

Jean Chalton, Boys Brigade Leader reported:
"We have successfully completed the garden project and it has been well received by the church members, particularly the older generation and the community groups that use our church. They all enjoy sitting out in the sunshine to have their coffee and watch the wildlife that has been attracted to the garden through the many plants and flowers and the bird feeders that we bought. The birds are a hungry bunch and it takes some doing to keep the feeders well topped up. With the boys we planted many seeds and at our recent B.B holiday we enjoyed homegrown potatoes, veg and tomatoes. The boys also planted sunflower seeds and much to the delight of everyone using the garden they grew to huge heights. We also have a large pumpkin growing ready for harvest time. We invited Councillor Phil Gilchrist to formerly open the garden at the end of July, unfortunately this turned out to be a very wet Friday and we had to erect a gazebo to keep everyone dry. He unveiled a small plaque with the words “Steadfast Corner, sponsored by Your Wirral” and also showing the Your Wirral logo. The word steadfast is part of our B.B motto. We are very grateful to have received the grant as this garden will provide many hours of pleasure in the years to come as well as teaching the boys many new skills linked to gardening and the environment."
