Bertram Lawn Tennis Club - Kidzone
Your Wirral is delighted to have supported Bertram Lawn Tennis Club in developing their new mini-tennis court to encourage more children in Meols to take up tennis.
The project saw a disused tarmac area behind the club house transformed into a colourful “Kidzone”. After thoroughly cleaning the area and having the court professionally painted, volunteers from Bertram LTC worked with pupils from local schools to paint murals on the walls of the court – including the Your Wirral logo.
At the opening, Barbara Bloor, President of Cheshire Lawn Tennis Association praised the work that had gone into it and added her hopes that somewhere in the children playing at Bertram’s Kidzone a future Andy Murray may be found.
Sally Kew, Community Development Co-ordinator at WPH and a member of the Your Wirral team commented “I am very impressed with the new court and especially the painting on the walls – it is a real reflection of the amount of work Bertram LTC and local children put into it.”
